Resumen
La presente investigación se realizó con el objetivo de analizar los factores personales, familiares, socioeconómicos, académicos e institucionales, que intervienen en la deserción estudiantil de la Carrera de Bioquímica de una Universidad del Departamento de Itapúa. El estudio fue de tipo correlacional, de enfoque cuantitativo con diseño no experimental. La técnica de recolección de datos fue a través de revisión documental y bibliográfica, donde se recolectaron datos de los estudiantes matriculados en los años 2012 a 2021 que han desertado la carrera en ese periodo; y las encuestas fueron aplicadas a 18 estudiantes desertores de la carrera del primer periodo semestral del año 2022 y a docentes y autoridades institucionales. Se observó una relación estadísticamente significativa al 95% de nivel de confianza, en el comportamiento de la deserción según el año de matriculación con un p-valor de 0.0275. Así también, se logró identificar que el factor familiar de mayor incidencia en la deserción estudiantil es la economía donde el 39% refiere este factor como causante de la deserción con una relación estadísticamente significativa y p-valor valor de 0.0409. En cuanto a dicho factor, el 56% afirmó que el dinero no le resulta suficiente para cubrir gastos personales y académicos, y el 78% mencionó que los horarios de la carrera no le permiten realizar actividades laborales de medio tiempo para aumentar sus ingresos económicos, con una relación estadísticamente significativa y un p-valor de 0.0112.

Abstract
The present investigation was carried out with the objective of analyzing the personal, family, economic, academic and institutional factors that influence the university student desertion of the Biochemistry career of a private University in the city of Encarnación. The study was of an correlational type, quantitative approach with a non-experimental design. The data collection technique applied a survey, documentary and bibliographic review and interview, where data was collected from students enrolled from 2012 to 2021 who have dropped out the career and the survey has been applied to 18 deserters students from the period 2022, the interviews were conducted with professors and authorities of the institution, a statistically significant relationship was observed in the behavior of desertion according to the year of enrollment with a p value of 0.0275. With the investigation it was possible to identify that the family factor with the highest incidence in student desertion is the family economy where 39% refer to this factor as the cause of desertion with a statistically significant relationship and p value of 0.0409, in terms of the economic factor 56% affirmed that the money is not enough to cover their personal expenses and 78% affirmed that the schedules of the career do not allow them to carry out work activities that allow them to increase their economic income with a statistically significant relationship and a p value of 0.0112.
